Learning Outcomes
The main target of this course is the acquisition of the necessary knowledge for the recognition and comprehension of the prescriptions following by the preparation of the appropriate technological formulation of cosmetics. Acquisition of the necessary knowledge and possibilities for the recognition either of the raw material that are used in the different types of the cosmetic preparations and of the technological formulations, as far as the evolvement of the student skills in the management of the different preparation methods of the cosmetic formulations. Nevertheless the students will be familiarized with the handling of the different laboratory apparatus and implements in cosmetics.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic on the anatomy and the physiology of the skin. Cosmetics such as emulsions, refreshing creams O/W and W/O. Lotions, face masks, cosmetic powders, lipsticks, nails cosmetics, shampoo and hair preparations, deodorants and antiperspirants, suntan preparations, face and eye makeup, bath preparations, perfumes and colognes, shaving preparations. Procedures for the Headspace Extraction coupled on Gas Liquid Chromatograph
