Learning Outcomes
In the framework of Metal Structures IΙ course, the students are expected to: 1) Determine environmental actions on steel construction 2) Be able to cope with several loss-of-stability issues of steel elements and members 3) To be able to implement structural calculations with respect to moment connections and column base connections

Course Content (Syllabus)
Design procedures for buckling effects-Lateral, torsional and lateral-torsional buckling. Analysis of wind effects on steel structures and earthquake resistance features of structural steelwork. Types of bracing systems. Behavioral aspects and design of horizontal and vertical bracing systems. Design of steel columns. Design of various types of connections-Column base.
