Learning Outcomes
The learning goals of the course include students' understanding of statics basics. In addition, a short review of strength of materials (e.g. tensors) is made for introducing to the students topics that they will study later in their studies.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction. Systems of forces. Equilibrium of Rigid Bodies. Distributed Forces; Centroids and Centers of Gravity. Bodies with complex geometry (planar trusses, etc.). Internal forces. Cross-sectional loading diagrams of planar and non-planar beams. Cross-sectional loading diagrams in 3D. Stress and Strain Tensors.
