After successful completion of the course the students will have perfect knowledge on the subjects of microeconomics and macroeconomics with emphasis on the Greek economy data

Course Content (Syllabus)
Concept and subject of economy (financial goods). The preference/ selection problem. The basic functions of the financial system. Demand and Offer (The concept of market. The laws of supply and demand. The concept of elasticity. Definition and changes in market equilibrium. The income circuit (National Income, National product, National cost. The balance of income). The principles of economic policy (the need for government action in the financial life. Aspects of economic policy. Classification of aims and means of economic policy). Public economic policy (Government Budget, incomes and outcomes). Credit and currency policy (the concept of money supply). Logistical money. The role of the central bank. Current trends in currency theory. The structure of the Greek banking system. The exchange policy (balance of payments, direct or natural control, Income policy, evaluation of means)
