Αfter successful completion of this course the students will have the skills : 1. to design works of soil improvement at problematic site conditions and to supervise their construction 2. to design works of the foundation subsoil reinforcment using special inclusions and to supervise their construction 3. to use advanced software for solving relevant problems

Course Content (Syllabus)
Ground improvement techniques. Reinforced earth (methods of computation and technology). Foundations on unstable ground. Foundations’ reinforcing and subsoil strengthening. Analysis and study of the stiffness role and interaction with the superstructure . Spring models and distribution of contact stresses under the foundation . Analysis of some problematic situations and failures of foundations and geotechnical projects. Strengthening of the foundation construction .
