Learning Outcomes
The goal of this course is:
• The understanding of cell interactions during tooth development.
• The histological structure and biological basis of enamel, dentin, pulp and cementum.
By using the above knowledge the dental students will be able during their clinical practice to understand and explain clinical signs like that of pain and they will be able to put more precise clinical diagnosis.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The goal of this course is:
• The description and explanation of the structure and function of the cells involved in tooth development.
• The description of the biological mechanisms of tooth eruption.
• The understanding of the biological system of the dental pulp and the hard dental tissues.
• Genes involved in tooth development are also discussed and malformations that are due to the above genes malfunction.
