Course Content (Syllabus)
The importance of forest genetic resources protection and conservation for Greece. Forest species of economic significance in Greece and the broader Mediterranean region. Populations (provenances) with particular economic importance. Provenances and populations with special significance for particular environments. Protection and conservation methodologies for species, provenances, populations and individual trees. Endangered forest genetic resources due to pollution and other causes. Collection, distribution and control of forest seeds and planting material.
