Course Content (Syllabus)
Atomic Spectroscopy. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry with flame, heated graphite furnace, hydride generator and cold vapor atomizers. Atomic emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma. Mass spectrometry combined with inductively coupled plasma. Combined mass spectrometry with ICP and chromatographic techniques. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray absorption. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. Powder diffractometer. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Electronic spectroscopy Auger. Scanning electron microscopy and transit in the chemical analysis. Combinations of scanning microscopy with X-ray techniques. Non-automated kinetic methods of chemical analysis. Automatic methods of chemical analysis. Automatic continuous flow analyzers. Automatic methods of preconcentration and separation in series. Combination to atomic spectrometry. Laboratory exercises and applications of these techniques in single- and multi-element chemical analysis.
