Course Content (Syllabus)
Art History from 3000 B.C. to 1800. The presuppositions of the art of the 20th century. The «fathers» of modern art: Cézanne, Seurat, Van Gogh, Gauguin. Painting: Fauvism, Expressionism: «Die Brücke» - «Der blaue Reiter» Cubism – Orphism, Ιndependent expressionists: Ε.Νolde, O.Kokoschka, Ch.Soutine and others. Futurism. Abstraction: mainstreams and creators. Metaphysical Painting. Dada. Sculpture of the period.
