Learning Outcomes
After successfully attending the course the postgraduate student should be capable of: • Distinguishing the various types of pollutants in wastes and the pollution degree of the recipients. • Knowing the mechanisms of transport and transformation of pollutants, the importance of the bio-physico-chemical parameters and processes as well as their impacts on the environment. • Dealing with issues of design, operation, monitoring and regulation of waste management systems. • Applying methods and techniques for the evasion of pollution and the reduction of wastes. • Familiarizing himself with the regulations and legislation regarding waste management.
