Learning Outcomes
The course aims to familiarize students with the concept and content of Spatial Development and modern phenomena, trends and relevant views Students will become familiar with the tools and programming methods of local and regional development.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The key components that will be taught are:
• Concepts, contemporary events and trends in spatial development
• The spatial dimension of development at various scales and types of areas:
regional, local, urban, rural, disadvantaged, mountainous and coastal areas.
• Regulatory framework for economic programming (Greek and European)
• Methodologies:
socioeconomic analysis and needs identification / goal setting and strategy / consequence, relevance and coherence / priorities, measures and interventions / assessment of results and impact / implementation mechanisms
• Special mechanisms and tools: Public Investment Program, PPP, stade aid, global grants, revolving funds.
