There is no obligation to follow successfully any other course in order to follow swimming and physical health.
Learning Outcomes
To provide students with all the essential knowledge for general and special health issues related to swimming. In particular, the effects of acute and chronic systematic swimming training as well as the specific health disorders of swimmers are presented.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Hygiene and safety issues in swimming pools. Acute effects of swimming on the organic systems. Chronic effects – adaptations of swimming. Swimming in extreme temperatures. Swimming for special needs. Swimming and elderly. Health disorders of swimmers. The swimming in the prevention of health disorders. Swimming and obesity. Ergogenic aids in swimming – biomedical side effects. Pre-participation medical screening of swimmers, ergometric evaluation. Lifeguarding principles – cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Review
