Learning Outcomes
The goal of this course is to provide the theoretical foundations and the practical applications for the development of rehabilitation programs for patients with chronic diseases. The beneficial effects, the adaptations and the probable risks from exercise training in chronic patients will also be described. Finally presented will be the general principles and approaches to managing rehabilitation programs.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Patient assessment (Inpatient-Outpatient Rehabilitation) (selection, defining the patient population, risk stratification, assessing the results) 3. Evaluation of functional capacity in patients with chronic diseases 4. Rehabilitation programs for patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases 5. Acute effects and chronic adaptations to training in patients with cardiovascular diseases 6. Rehabilitation programs for patients with pulmonary diseases 7. Rehabilitation programs for patients with end-stage renal disease 8. Rehabilitation programs for patients with hypertension 9. Rehabilitation programs for patients with diabetes mellitus 10. Rehabilitation programs for patients with rheumatologic diseases 11. Exercise training for patients with cancer 12. Exercise training for patients with psychiatric diseases 13. Life style modification for the reduction of risk factors of chronic diseases
