General Prerequisites
Students are obliged to participate in at least 10 out of the 13 three-hours sessions which comprise the course, and in two implementation projects in schools: in one of them as instructors, in the other as observers of another team.
Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course, students are capable of conceiving, designing and implementing TiE projects in Primary and Secondary Education. They also acquire the necessary skills to design and implement related projects in special education schools (e.g. school for the deaf) and other institutions (e.g. public libraries, orphanages etc).

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course "Theatre in Education" continues the course "Dramatization". The basic goals of the course are: - to introduce the students to the techniques of TiE and offer them the opportunity to design and implement a TiE project, under the supervision of the course tutors. Students, thus, acquire a firsthand experience of the actual school practice. - to introduce the students to the academic debates on theatre paedagogics and the procedure that leads from dramatization to performance. Most sessions take the form of workshops, in which students work in teams, in order to design and teach a 2hour class in primary and secondary education schools. Implementations may also take place in special education schools (e.g. schools for the blind and the deaf), libraries, and other institutions (orphanages, homes for the elderly etc.)

Student Assessment
Student Evaluation is based on: 1. Their performance in the practical exercise, which concerns their contribution to the design and implementation of the project involved 2. Their personal written evaluation of the course that their team implemented, and a personal written evaluation of a course implemented by another team. 3. Α written paper that is submitted at the end of the semester. The paper presents the design of a TiE project for the Primary or Secondary Education.
