Learning Outcomes
Before the completion of this course each student should be able to: 1. understand and display knowledge on the fundamentals of the physics of sound and waves, as well as the physics of musical instruments 2. Apply knowledge about these concepts into practical domains, and in solving problems, 3. Develop knowledge about related contemporary research methodology 4. Understand the value of interdisciplinary approaches in the study of music.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The viewpoint of Musical Acoustics to music theory and practice is based on fundamental theory and methodology of classical Acoustics and its related disciplines, which focus on topics such as: production and propagation of sound waves, processing of sound signals, and finally, perception of sound by humans and other species.

1. Fields of Acoustics and related disciplines.
2. Elements of waves and acoustics
3. Analysis and graphical representation of audio signals.
4. Introduction to the physics of musical instruments
5. The algebra of musical intervals and scales.
