Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is an introduction to basic concepts of Phonetics and Phonology in order for students to understand the mechanisms that rule the pronunciation of a language. We examine the accent of Spanish and we provide, on a theoretical and practical level, knowledge concerning the successful teaching of Spanish-as-a-foreign-language pronunciation to native speakers of Greek. The course focuses mainly on pronunciation of standard Spanish as spoken in peninsular Spain, not overlooking however key phenomena that characterize other Iberian and Latin America dialectal varieties.
