Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with a solid understanding and knowledge of Succession Law. The students who successfully attend the course shall be able to reason and to solve legal cases on issues which refer to the materials covered in the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Place of Succession Law in the legal system, devolution of the succession, acquisition and loss of the inheritance (acceptance and renunciation of inheritance, dishinheritance of an heir, unworthiness to inherit).- TESTAMENTARY SUCCESSION:Concept and features of the will, types of wills, the content of the will - appointment of an heir, legacy, fideicommissary substitution of heir, accretion, conditions and time-clauses in wills- prerequisites for the validity of the content of wills, revocation of wills, publication of wills, interpretation of wills.- INTESTATE SUCCESSION: Characteristics of intestate succession, ranks of intestate succession, succession rights of the surviving spouse, collation.- FORCED HEIRSHIP: Concept, aim and legal nature of forced heirship, rightholders, percentage and assessment of the forced share, infringement of the right on the forced share, protection of the forced share.- Certificate of heirship and inheritance lawsuit.- Donation mortis causa.
