Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• understand the biological adaptations caused by muscle work in the human body during exposure to extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, altitude, diving, etc.)
• recognize the signs/symptoms of stress/strain and the body's physiological responses to exercise in extreme environments
• describe the mechanisms of thermoregulation and homeostasis of the body
• highlight the environmental factors that affect physical performance
• design safe exercise programs in extreme environmental conditions
