Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students: (a) will have acquired a critical and in depth knowledge of the main aspects of the Pauline theology and the they will be able to describe themcoherently and clearly (b) will be able to trace analogies, interpretative techniques, and reception mechanisms of theological concepts text in various biblical texts (c) will be able to discern in various New Testament texts theological themes, to make connections among them, and to come to practical conclusions (d) will be able to use their previous knowledge in matters of New Testament interpretation in order to track major theological concepts in various biblical texts

Course Content (Syllabus)
The focus of the course will be on the study and analysis of the main theological concepts of Paul as thery unfolded in the generally accepted as genuine pauline writings. Additionally, the way these concepts were receiverd and further developed in the deuteropauline text will be also discussed. More specifically during the semester the following topics will be examined and discussed: (1) review of Pauline studies, (2) the theological presuppositions of Paul I: a) Jewish origins, b)Hellenists and Antiochean Christianity, (3) major aspects of Paul's theological thought I: soteriology (sin, salvation, Law, gospel, charis), (4) major aspects of Paul's theological thought II: anthropology, (5) major aspects of Paul's theological thought III: ecclesiology, (6)major aspects of Paul's theological thought IV: anthropology, (7) major aspects of Paul's theological thought V: pneumatology, (8) major aspects of Paul's theological thought VI: eschatology, (9) possible connections and differentiation between the Pauline theology and those of other groups of early Christianity (e.g. Hellenists, Judaeo-Christians), (10) the impact and use of the Old Testament texts and concepts in Pauline texts (intertextuality), (11) the reception of pauline thought in deuteropauline literature, (12) the impact and reception of pauline theology in various NT texts (Luke-Acts, Mark, John, James, 1 Peter), and (13) the significance of Paul’s teaching for contemporary Christian communities.

Description
- Oral presentation and exegesis of a Pauline text where an aspect of his theological thought is presented and discussion of a study that is related to the topic of the course. The exegetical analysis must follow the exegetical rules and the presentation must conform to the rules of an oral presentation as these are described in the document uploaded on the webpage of the course on blackboard (40% of the final grade, 20% each assignment) - Written assignment on a topic related to the course. The topics will be announced on the webpage on blackboard. The written assignment must conform to the rules of a written essay as they are described in the document that will be uploaded on the webpage on blackboard (60% of the final grade).
