Learning Outcomes
1. The understanding of the theological criteria in the Dialogue of the Orthodox Church with the Roman Catholic Church and Protestantism, 2. With the succcessful conclusion of the teaching, students learn and interpret critically the reasons caused the split of the Western Christianity, to manage crises religious, political and social in education, local and international organizations.

Course Content (Syllabus)
From division to the search of christian unity. The approach of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the other christian churches. The progress achieved at the Second Vatican Council, opening the door for the Roman Catholic Church to approach the other christians. Methods of cooperation and practice of the Theological Dialogues. Theological evaluation of the dialogue between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches. Outline of Lectures (Syllabus): 1) The Encyclicals of the Ecumenical Patriarchate concerning the Ecumenical Movement Α´. 2) The Encyclicals of the Ecumenical Patriarchate concerning the Ecumenical Movement Β´. 3) The Encyclicals of the Ecumenical Patriarchate concerning the Ecumenical Movement C´. 4) The Ecumenical activity of the World Council of Churches. 5) The reluctant behavior of the Roman Catholic Church. 6) Before the Second Vatican Council. 7) The convocation of the Second Vatican Council. 8) The theological work of the Second Vatican Council. 9) The decisions of the Second Vatican Council about the Ecumenical Movement. 10) The time until 1982. 11) The difficulties of the Theological Dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church. The problem of Uniatism. 12) From Munich (1982) to Ravena (2007) Α´. 13) From Munich (1982) to Ravena (2007) Β´.
