Course Content (Syllabus)
Analysis of the so-called Apocalypsis of Isaiah (Isa. 24-27) compared with parallel texts from Pentateuch, Psalms and other poetic and prophetic books according to the Septuagint and the Hebrew Bible. 1. Introduction I: Research history, terminology, methods, literature. 2. Introduction II: The Book of Isaiah. Historical, literary and theological problems. 3. Linguistic Analysis 4. Translation criticism. 5. Literary criticism. 6. Form criticism 7. Criticism and History of Oral Traditions 8. Criticism and History of Written Traditions 9. Criticism and History of Redaction 10. Historical setting. 11. Theological Explanation and Interpretation 12. Criticism and history of reception I: New Testament 13. Criticism and history of reception II: patristic literature.
