Learning Outcomes
In this course the most important aspects of the theological thought of the NT writers will be presented. The particular theological focus of each book will be associated with the life of the early Christian communities
and with the tendencies that developed in them. The patristic reception and further development of these theological ideas will also be discussed.
After the successful completion of the course students will be able to:
- detect and highlight the theological tendencies of the individual books of the NT
- compare these theological tendencies to each other and detect the possible similarities and differences
- compare the theological teaching of the NT writers with its patristic reception and further development
- make the plausible associations between the NT teaching and the current debates and issues

Course Content (Syllabus)
During the semester the following topics will be taught: research history and tendencies in the field of NT theology, theological tendencies within various groups of early Christianity (e.g. Hellenists or Pauline communities), specific theological issues (e.g. Christology, soteriology) and the reception of NT theology by the Church Fathers.
