Course Content (Syllabus)
Atomic Spectroscopy. Atomic absorption spectrometry with flame atomizers, graphite furnace, hydride generation and cold vapor. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Mass spectrometry combined with chromatographic techniques. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. X ray diffraction. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy in chemical analysis. Combinations of electron microscopy techniques with X-rays. Non-automated kinetic methods of chemical analysis. Automated methods of chemical analysis. Automatic flow analyzers. Automated methods of preconcentration and separation. Laboratory exercises and applications of the above techniques in single and multi-element chemical analysis.
