Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course a successful student will have gained the ability to outline the most characteristic ritual acts of the celebration of the Mysteries as they are celebrated in the Orthodox Church.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The objective of the course is to study the historical development and current ritual celebration of the sacramental Mysteries of the Orthodox Church. 1. Introduction to the course. Prebaptismal acts and prayers. 2. Time and days for the celebration of Baptism. Baptismal preparation and the origins of Lent. 3. Baptism – historical and teleturgical examination I. 4. Baptism – historical and teleturgical examination II. 5. Betrothal and Matrimony. 6. Unction – historical and teleturgical examination. 7. The communion of the sick (preparation – preservation – offering of Holy Communion). 8. Funerary Rites. 9. Blessing of the Waters (small and great). 10. Ordination (deacon - presbyter - bishop). 11. Church consecration. 12. The sacramental life of the Church and mass media. 13. General discussion. Review.
