Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction. Evolution of forest genetics, special issues. Problems peculiar to forest genetics. Mendelian genetics, application to forest trees, probability. Chromosomes and cell division. Gamete formation, fertilization in angiosperms and gymnosperms. The genetic material. Gene expression. Linkage, crossing over, chromosome maps. Genes in populations. Quantitative traits.
