Learning Outcomes
Upon a succesfull termination of the course the students will: 1. aquire basic knowledge on the land plant evlution as well as on the evolution of major plant groups (extinct and extanct) 2. aquire knowledge about pollen morphology and its use in reconstructing past vegetation changes 3. deepen their knowledge on palaeoecology and past plant biomes

History of forest vegetation and research methods, pollen analysis methods and application of its results, time division of the historic vegetation development within the European continent, history of forest vegetation in Greece.

Student Assessment
Achievement of learning goals is evaluated through written exams on the content of all course lectures. A minimum grade of five(5) is required in the written exams so that the course is considered successfully passed. Written exams comprise short/extended answer questions.
