General Prerequisites
General concept of evil and fall, in terms of both art and Orthodox Theology, as parypostases of good -creation of the world and of man.
Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students will be able to:
(a) make use of their knowledge in theology in the discussion of current issues and theories that are related to the existence of evil in the world.
(b) engage themselves in a dialogue with social sciences, history of the art, modern literature regarding the analysis, pictorial expression and treatment of the evil.
(c) discern the epistemological boundaries of human sciences and the potential of theology.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. General approach of the existence of evil in the world. 2. The vision of the universe as creation from the standpoint of Orthodox Theology. 3. The importance of freedom of selection and promotion of creation (humans and angels). 4. The fall in terms of both Orthodox theology (demons and humans). 5. The consequences of the fall. 6. The angels in the theological and liturgical tradition of paganism to Christianity-The theological presuppositions of visualization of angels in Christian art. 6. The configuration of the iconography of angels in Christian art–The experience of falling in Christian traditions. 7. Treatment of Creation. 8. Nipsi and lighting. 9. The iconography of angels in Byzantine art. 10. The iconography of demons in Byzantine art. 11. The Second Coming as a time of the end. 12. Restoration and Agathotopia. 13. theological ktisiologia and modern world.
