Practice on classical techniques of chemical analysis (preparation of standard solutions- volumetric analysis),as well as instrumental techniques(spectroscopy UV/VIS, atomic absorption spectroscopy, high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography,refractory).

Course Content (Syllabus)
Standard Solutions, Preparation and control. Volumetric analysis: Acid-Base Titration, Determination of the composition of a mixture NaOH/Na2CO3. Oxidation-Reduction Titration (Determination of Fe2+ with KMnO4). Complexometric Titration (Water hardness determination using EDTA). Spectrophotometry UV-Vis – Lambert-Beer Law-Absorption curves (Determination of Fe2+ with o-phenanthroline). Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with flame, Instrumentation, Applications. (Determination of calcite-dolomite mixture). Mineralogical identification of calcite-dolomite mixture using X rays. Ion chromatography – determination of Cl-, NO3-, SO42- in water samples. Gas chromatography (Determination of alkanes mixture). Refractometry (Determination of sugars in water samples).
