Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is concerned with the best modern ways of predicting the thermodynamic and transport properties of fluids. 1. For the calculation of the enthalpy, entropy, density and fugacity coefficients of mixtures, generalised equations of state (Peng-Robinson, Bennedict-Web-Rubin) are employed. Three-parameter (Lee-Kesler) and four-parameter (Wu-Stiel) corresponding states models are also employed. 2. Activity coefficients of mixtures are calculated employing models such as Wilson, NRTL, UNIQUAC, etc. 3. Vapour-Liquid Equilibrium (VLE) and Liquid-Liquid Equilibrium (LLE) calculations. Flash calculations. 4. Transport properties of fluids calculations: thermal conductivity and viscosity of gas and liquid mixtures.
