Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to: 1. learn and identify the cell structure, the tissues, the organs and the systems of the domestic animals in reference to their topography in the body, their correlation as well as their differentiations among productive species. 2. furthermore, to comprehend the principles of embryology, the basic principles of the animal organism functions, which are conditioned by natural and biochemical – hormonal cues. 3. understand the concept of homeostasis and of the whole body function and how each particular physiological system contributes to the function of the “whole”. 4. Students, also, will be able to explain the co – ordination of the functions of the organism, the animal’s adaptation to the environment and the perpetuation of the species.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Part I. Animal cell and tissues. General Histology, Haematology. Kinetic system (osteology, study of ligaments and muscles). Nervous system. Sensory organs. Cardiovascular system (blood – lymph). Digestive system. Respiratory system. Urinary system. Reproductive system. Embryogenesis and embryology. Part II. Basic principles of the function of the animal organism. The function of cell, organs and body systems. Body fluids, blood and its function. Homeostasis. Circulation – the hear and peripheral circulation. Neuromuscular activity. Digestive system. The functions of endocrine glands and hormonal effects on target cells - tisues. Urinary system. Metabolism and temperature regulation. Physiology of reproduction in male and female. Animal Ethology.
