Course Content (Syllabus)
School/Movement with strong aesthetic identity, Symbolism also influenced Greek poetry since the end of the 19th century. The aim of the course is to examine the special version hired in Greek poetry of the first decades of the 20th century (1910-1930) the Symbolism, thanks to the work of the so-called Generation of 1920 or group of post-symbolists. Initially, these origins of the version, which draws its origin from the poetry of the French "cursed poets" and from the French symbolists, will be presented, while it converses variously with the Symbolism of the Generation of 1880. Subsequently, poetic texts of: Nikos Filiras, Kostas Uranis, Napoleon Lapathiotis, Tellos Agras, Mitsos Papanikolaou, Maria Polydouri and K. G. Karyotakis – the main and most important representative of this group will be examined; thus, the particular thematic and characteristics of the meta-symbolists will be highlighted and, ultimately, the deposit (without, however, being done programmatically and in coordinates) of a different poetic example from that formed by the Generation of 1880.
