Course Content (Syllabus)
Subject of the course is the process of composition and design of an apartment building in the city of Thessaloniki.
The objective is to explore and solve problems related to the integration of the building into the urban environment, environmental behavior, the materiality, structure and organization of its functions, and its socio-psychological qualities.
Research of the above will be done in the framework of planning ordinances effective today, and will be given special weight in the articulation of individual units (houses) in plans and sections as well as in the common/social activities and meeting places of the residents, namely spaces in between of relationship that give to housing grades of urban environment. This peculiarity of the program enables students to experiment with the nature of the building in the difficult condition of our urban reality.
In the context of the course are organized lectures with topics covering the objectives we set above.
