Course content: - Structure and properties of atomic nuclei – Radioactivity - Nuclear radiations and their interaction with the matter - Biologic interactions of radiation (an introduction to health physics and radiation protection) - The measurement of the nuclear radiation: Theory and laboratory practice - The nuclear reactions and their applications - Actinides: Formation and chemical behavior - Nuclear Energy: Production and environmental impact - An introduction to radioanalytical chemistry - Particle accelerators and their applications to materials science and to the art. - Applications of radioactive isotopes and radiations to the medical diagnostic and therapy - Radiochronology
