Upon successful completion of this course, students will deepen their knowledge on the subject of new materials, manufacturing and control methods and their technological applications. They will have acquired basic knowledge on building materials of monuments, characterization and their corrosion, decay diagnostic methods, methods and materials of conservation and protection.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Chemistry and Technology of Materials. Methods for synthesis of new advanced materials. Study and characterization of the structure of the composition and the properties of materials with the application of modern control methods. Technological applications. Building materials of monuments. Characterization, corrosion and decay, environmental conditions. Destructive and non-destructive damage detection methods. Conservation of materials, cleaning, consolidation, protection-protective coatings.
