Course Content (Syllabus)
Aim of this course is to introduce students to the literary genre of poetry and to the main critical vocabulary used in its analysis. Students will practise on how to approach a poem and how to construct a valid interpretation both in oral and in written form considering critical concepts like the speaker, persona(e), tone, poetic metaphor, rhythm & meter, imagery, typography, etc. Moreover, students will be expected to be familiar with the poems analyzed in class each time and to take active part in class-discussions. Class attendance in this Workshop is mandatory.
