Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims to introduce students to the key characteristics of cinematic form. By approaching film as a language, we try to analyze and comprehend the ways in which the images and sounds collaborate to fulfill the act of storytelling. Therefore, we focus on specific technical and aesthetic aspects, such as mise-en-scène, cinematography, framing and editing in order to examine the multiple forms and shapes that they take in each film. Through examples from the entire spectrum of cinematic production, we study the diversity of cinematic language and its evolution in the passage of time.
