Course Content (Syllabus)
The historical development of the modern and partly the contemporary Greek nation is traced not only through its origins, continuity and cohesion but mainly through the analysis and designation of both its identity and the cultural influences that have affected it. The evaluation and classification of the foreign influences are substantiated during centuries and through time in general, while assessing the stratification of the local populations and examining simultaneously the ethnological boundaries of the Greek nation. Along with the development of factual knowledge and narrative framework, the defining elements of the historical course, national identity and linguistic composition of the Modern Greek people are illustrated in relation to their geographical and cultural surroundings.
