• get a solid grasp of film terms and concepts associated with romanticism, realism, and expressionism in film as well as the avant-garde.
• develop skills of critical thinking and analysis through the examination and analysis of authentic texts related to the aforementioned areas of study.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Authentic reading texts followed by comprehension and vocabulary activities, language exercises, and discussion questions. The texts are mainly about editing, and are taken from a wide variety of sources. Indicative titles of units: Romanticism, The nature of Realism, Expressionism, The Avant-Garde.
