LISTENING COMPREHENSION
The student will be able to
- understand the central idea and specific information, provided that the speech is clearly articulated in a generally familiar accent, originating from public announcements (simple technical information, detailed instructions, etc.), media(radio or TV news bulletins and simple recorded material about familiar subjects), simple and everyday conversations between native speakers.
ORAL PRODUCTION
The student will be able to
- make a simple description of experiences or presentation of people, living or working conditions, daily routines, likes/dislikes, etc.
- give a brief reasons and explanations for opinions, plans and actions.
- deliver very short, rehearsed announcements.
- give a short, rehearsed, basic presentation on a familiar subject and answer explicit questions following the presentation.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Development of comprehension skills: sociolinguistic approach of various oral texts. Development of production skills: focus on the implementation of the language system (pronunciation, intonation, lexical and grammatical accuracy).
