Familiarity and acquaintance with the wider field of children's literature. Understanding of the specific determinant characteristics of literature for children. Understanding the relationship of contextual (historical, social, cultural) the occurrence and development of children's literature in Europe and Greece. Familiarity with literary theories and possibilities efarmogiw them. Acquaintance with the wider field of contemporary criticism (European and Greek) of children's literature. Conquest skills related to the construction and implementation of Educational Programs with content teaching approaches to children's literature

Course Content (Syllabus)
• A brief historical and sociological approach to children’s literature. • Concept, content and special traits of children’s literature. Literature and children’s literature. A brief historical review of Greek children’s literature. • Familiarization with the theories of literature and their potential applications. General introduction to contemporary critique of European and Greek children’s literature. • Different genres of children’s literature, trends and evolution. Theory and Criticism. • Short form narrations (folkway, modern, child-centred, autobiographical texts). • Children’s poetry (rhythmic, lyrical-rhetorical, modern poems). • Wide form narrations (novels and novellas). • Illustrated book and knowledge book.
