Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to give students theoretical and practical knowledge on general and specific issues of musical and dance our traditions, so they are able to meet teaching needs in terms of Greek traditional dance, in all levels of education and cultural associations. The course is aimed at future teachers of Physical Education to learn about the traditions and customs of the Greek people, moral, aesthetic and educational value as derived from them and participate in the dissemination to the younger generations.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. History of dance in ancient Greece 2.Istoria of Greek dance (dance in the Byzantine period). 3. Folk performances and dance. 4. Notation dance. 5. History of Greek dancing (dancing period of Turkish rule). 6. Municipal singing and dancing. 7. View video from field katagrafes- critical analysis. 8. Dance in Greece - Educational and anthropological approach. 9. Traditional clothing and cultural identity. 10. Methods spot recording of traditional dances. 11. Organization of cultural events and presentation of Greek dances. 12. Thoughts on the study of traditional culture. 13. Improvisation in Greek traditional dance. 14. Viewing video from field recordings - Critical discussion analysis. 7. Προβολή βίντεο από επιτόπιες καταγραφές- κριτική ανάλυση. 8. Ο χορός στην Ελλάδα - Παιδαγωγική και ανθρωπολογική προσέγγιση. 9. Παραδοσιακή ενδυμασία και πολιτισμική ταυτότητα. 10. Μέθοδοι επιτόπιας καταγραφής των παραδοσιακών χορών. 11. Οργάνωση πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων και παρουσίαση των Ελληνικών χορών. 12.
