Course Content (Syllabus)
The object of the seminar is the study of some cults and sanctuaries in the ancient Greek world. The nature of the gods, religion and cult themes are discussed and historical and political events are taken into account. Sources of our research, in addition to archaeological remains, are the relevant inscriptions and the ancient literature. 1 seminar: Introduction 2 seminar: The cult of Demeter 3 seminar: The cult of Poseidon 4 seminar: The cult of Dionysos 5 seminar: Gods of justice.
