Speech Science and its relationship to linguistics, the practical use of phonetics helping to learn and to improve the pronunciation, the usefulness of phonology in understanding the nature of language.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Phonetics and phonology, the phonic medium, phonetic and orthographic representation, IPA, issues of phonology like phonemes and allophones, distinctive features, phonological processes, the nature of phonological rules and the Formalism of Phonological Processes etc.
