Learning Outcomes
The content of the course "Transport and Environment" establishes, firstly, an adequate body of curriculum, which covers the basic needs of knowledge on the subject of the assessment of the impacts on the environment from traffic and transport in general.
Furthermore, the program of the lectures forms a coherent awareness and education at the Civil Engineering Department' students, necessary for the balanced and comprehensive management of the problem of protecting the environment and the quality of life.
The gradual deepening on the themes and the environmental effects of the different transport systems (road, rail, air, sea) supply to the student the possibility to adequately address the concept of the environmental impact studies and their preparation and evaluation, an object particularly "popular" in the current job market of the civil engineers.
Furthermore, the special teaching of the issue of transport of dangerous goods and waste, makes the student shareholder of the necessary knowledge, so that he can understand sufficiently and work professionally in the future on issues such as the study and organization of the dangerous goods / waste transport network, as well as the ADR consultant.
Finally, the participation of the students in applied exercises or theme within the course, provide the necessary contact with the practice and the familiarization with the instruments and methods for measuring and analysis of the environmental impacts of transport.
