Learning Outcomes
Understanding the nature of groundwater flows
Acquisition of knowledge on analytical and numerical simulation of groundwater flows, based on the Darcy law and the continuity equation. Emphasis is placed upon steady state flows towards systems of wells and on the method of images.
Understanding seepage force and piping phenomena.
Understanding of hydrologic cycle and of hydrologic balance.
Acquisition of basic knowledge on rainfall measurement and analysis and on stream flow rates.
Development of calculation skills regarding hydrologic planning of hydraulic works, flood and drought forecast and hydrologic basin simulation.
