Following this module, students should be able to:
1. Describe a variety of methods used to investigate language;
2. Critically discuss psychological theories of language; and
3. Understand the mutual influences of language and memory processes.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Language perception: recognizing spoken and written words. Production of language: the psycholinguistics of speaking. Language comprehension and memory. Language and semantics. Phonological processing and reading development. The development of language. Written and spoken language. The link between memory and language. Working memory as a language learning device.
