Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: to understand the structure and function of colony to apply beekeeping manipulations to recognize the main bee diseases to know about the origin, the production and distribution of honey and others bee products

Course Content (Syllabus)
Beekeeping in Greece and worldwide, bee anatomy and morphology, life cycle of honeybees, bee hive (brood, worker, queen, drone), honeybees communication and orientation, pollen collection and honey production, the annual cycle of the bee colony, seasonal management (spring, summer, autumn, winter), basic beekeeping equipment, diseases and pests, bee plants, physicochemical characteristics of honey, bee products (pollen, propolis, royal jelly, venom, wax)
