Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. identify insect, mite, rodent and bird species causing damage to stored products
2. understand the economic importance of these pests for stored products
3. identify injuries caused by these pests to stored products
4. monitor pest populations and apply chemical and non-chemical methods for pest control in stored products

Pest species (Insects, Mites, Rodents, Birds) associated with stored commodities. Sampling methods, Chemical control and alternative methods, Fumigants and modified atmospheres, Monitoring for product quality and pests.
