Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able: 1. to enhance their knowledge in social research methodology 2. to handle literature review tools 3. to read and evaluate scientific articles. 4. understand basic elements of qualitative research in rural communities 5. use techniques of data gathering in the rural (particpant observation, in depth analysis, etc) 6. evaluate methodological and practical issues in terms of involvment in the area and research ethics 7. develop skills in analysing and interpreting qualitative data

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to nature and theory of knowledge. Errors in research & ways to prevent them (inaccurate observations-excessive generalization-selective observation). Exact observation and understanding of reality (consensual & empirical reality-social construction of reality). Design of analysis methods. What is the problem-object of the research. Variables & Values. Correlation of variables. Review of knowledge on the subject. Defining hypotheses-basic concepts. Selection of data collection techniques. Selection of survey subjects. Social Measurement-observation. How From An Idea That We Have Been To Effective Measurements (Concept). Ethical / ethical issues in research: Voluntary participation. Protection. Anonymity. Confidentiality. Enhanced consent. Misleading. Main methods of data collection: practical application workshops on the various research methods, such as bibliographic surveys, interviews, questionnaires, observation, etc. Measuring scales. Making a questionnaire. Methods of qualitative field research. Participatory observation, interview, biographical analysis, historical comparative method, content analysis, case studies, experiments, group research, mystery client, Delphi technique, etc. Descriptive and Inductive Statistics. Instructions for writing scientific work - and familiarity with bibliometric indicators. Biblical & Cognitive Management Program.
