Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to:
1. understand the roles of vertebrate hormones and overall the mammalian signaling proteins,
2. identify the location of each endocrine organ and tissue, the sites of synthesis and the actions of each hormone,
3. know the receptor functions for each hormone and the second messenger system (cAMP, calmodulin etc.),
4. understand a number of metabolic diseases that pertain to defects in hormone production or signaling.
